The reticle on the scope has excellent glass construction and will give you 11 illumination levels. Its maximum brightness setting is a bit higher than that found on the Vortex Optics Strike Eagle, making it a good option for those that want a reticle that is more visible in daylight.

The Viper has some of the highest image quality that you’ll find with any 1-6x scope, with an excellent lens that is bright and clear.

The turrets on the Viper give you a lot of flexibility, especially when you need to make adjustments for long-range shooting. However, they can be a bit stiff, especially when you first start using the scope. This issue usually goes away with repeated use, but do be warned when you are using the scope right out of the box.

The eye box is excellent at all magnifications, giving you plenty of room to move around. The reticle is clear and well-built, with excellent rangefinding. It has ten brightness levels, allowing you to customize it depending on light conditions. It’s bright enough that you’ll be able to see it in daylight.

Monstrum Tactical 1-6x Scope

The Monstrum Tactical won’t blow you away with its features. But where it does beat its competitors is with its price. This makes it the best 1-6x scope for the money.

One of the best features of the scope is the clarity and brightness of its lens. You’ll get excellent rangefinding and your target will stay in focus, even at the higher magnification levels.

The reticle is good but doesn’t stand out. The dial controlled illumination, however, is a nice feature and is visible in bright conditions.

It’s also one of the lighter scopes you’ll find, making it a great option for those that want a scope that won’t be too bulky.

Although a great scope in many areas, there are some drawbacks to the Monstrum. It isn’t as durable as some other options. And there can be some blurring when you use the higher magnification levels. Although the scope is durable, it feels a bit flimsier than some of the other options.

The mount is sturdy and holds up well. And the scope is durable, with excellent aluminum construction that takes a beating.

The etched reticle is good but not notable. You can choose between red, green, or the standard black. Some users find it to be too thick, which can be distracting. The sight is easy to zero, and you’ll get true 1x magnification, which is crucial for tactical shooting.

You’ll get great focus and clarity at the lower magnification levels. However, at the highest magnifications, there can be some blurring. Although great for tactical shooting, the performance doesn’t hold up as well at longer distances. The scope is also a bit heavy, weighing in at nearly 20 ounces.
